The Champion

The fierce leader of your army

Intro

The player-controlled character who looks badass and bigger than the other units, they can fight even without supporting units. The Champion is chosen by the player before each match and collects all in-battle resources and uses them to build structures and acquire more military units. There will be a loss of a portion of their held resources upon defeat (timer to respawn).

The Champion will be the focal point of all that happens on the battlefield. He will be the leader at the front of the pack that you are controlling, you will use him to direct units, lead attacks and deploy any pre-planned tactical assaults.

Basics

  • During PvP battles the Champion is controlled by the player at all times

  • They collect and hold in-battle resources : 1)Food 2)Coin 3)Materials

  • They lose 10-20% of their held resources upon defeat, which can be claimed by the opponent(s)

  • They have a respawn timer when defeated (they aren’t killed but this represents the time needed to get them back on their feet)

  • Units can continue to fight while the Champion is respawning but cannot receive new orders

Attributes

  • They have a basic attack chain of 2-4 hits

  • Changes based on their equipped Weapon

  • They have a special ability which has a cooldown

  • They have a passive ability which affects nearby units

  • They can deal damage to anything except structures, e.g units, monsters, and other Champions

While controlling the champion in game you can be in one of two modes :

1) Command mode

  • In Command Mode, the Champion can call all nearby military units to them with a single button - this makes them follow and fight with the Champion until they are given a specific order

  • With all or some of the following units selected, the Champion can give orders to the selected units

What kind of orders can you give in command mode?

  • Standard - Attack the closest structure or enemy unit, but continue following the Champion

  • Assault - Focus enemy units, ignoring structures (stops following champion)

  • Siege - Focus on structures, ignoring enemy units (stops following champion)

  • Protect Me - Focus on enemy units who are dealing damage to Champion

  • Defend - Hold position, fighting any enemy units who approach (stops following champion)

  • Hunt - Automates movements to search for creatures to kill for bonus resources

2) Build Mode

In Build Mode, the Champion can use gathered resources and coin to request the construction of structures at their current location.

These can be built anywhere on the map at the Champion’s position while the player is in Build Mode :

  • Archer Towers - Inflict damage over time to enemies passing through their effective area

  • Barricades - Prevent all movement in effective area until destroyed, can have additional types and effects e.g. Spiked Barricade deals damage to sieging units

  • Traps - Inflict severe damage on enemies who trigger them, they have a one-time use
